Welcome to the February edition and the start if the 6 Metal Year in 9 Star Ki Astrology. I hope this finds you well and settling peacefully into 2012?
Today, 4th February, marks the start of a new Ki cycle and the New Year in the ancient Chinese Solar Calendar; the system used in 9 Star Ki. This shift brings the full force yang/masculine star of 6 Metal right into the middle of things. The Trigram of Chien representing Father and 'Heaven' now resides in the 5 House, so it's 'fluctuation' and re-birth for all you 6 Stars out there. For the rest of us the influence of the 6 Star is one of focus and clarity, the strength of believing in ourselves and a small dash of sensitivity.
Today also depicts the start of spring in the Chinese Calendar. Here in Portugal the Mimosa trees have branches laden with bright, fluffy, yellow flowers and the almond trees are in full blossom, with a loud hum of bees all around. It really does feel like spring is arriving here, yet I know it's a different story elsewhere, with a friend reporting -27 in the Ukraine and a late cold spell hitting most parts of the UK. Keep warm my friends!

Nine Star Ki Astrology - February 2012
From February 4th to March 5th the Ki cycle changes to a 5 Earth month. This brings all our stars for the month back to their original positions in the Ki Map (See opposite).
On top of the new underlying Chi influence for the year, we will more immediately feel at ease with ourselves during February enjoying a booster of our core Chi. I would avoid any major moves at this time, rather get the decks clear for things to come. A spring clean?

4 Wood Star – Things are finally starting to shift for you now, forward movement, opportunity and an upward, progressive time ahead! Make the most of this year, a great time to start new projects and businesses. If it feels right don’t hesitate – be spontaneous...
3 Wood Star – This can often be a frustrating year, as it precedes ‘spring’ in this system. It is a time to make sure all those stepping stones are firmly planted and laid out in front of you to sprint along in 2012. Patience will pay off and allow any changes to happen; go with the flow...
2 Soil Star – A deep, spiritual year ahead, a time to pay yourself some attention. It’s a year of planning and getting the ‘seed’ ready for its next cycle. Take care of your health as you may find it harder than usual to recover from illness. Keep warm avoid too much cold foods...
1 Water Star – You made it to the top! Well done! – Now it’s your time to shine, show the world what you’re really about, clarity, illuminated and switched on! - The focus is on you and people may be attracted to you more than usual, just give yourself space and time alone now and again...
