JANUARY 2012

Dear reader,

Welcome to the January edition.

Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR - I hope 2012 brings you all much happiness and peace. I watched the celebratory Fireworks in Lagos, Portugal at midnight, accompanied by music, the last piece being Carmina Burana by Carl Orff - it was very moving. Secondly I would like to thank you all for continuing to read my Feng Shui musings and Ki forecasts every month, it's a pleasure.

With the first month of 2012, we welcome the last month in the current yearly Ki cycle (7). The 6 Metal Star (Heaven/Father/Chien) arrives to take centre stage next, and as if to give us all a taste of things to come, January also sees this star fly into the middle position. Maybe a good time to take stock of where we have got to and get a sense of our next steps. I'll send out a forecast for the year at the beginning of February and hopefully let you in on some exciting news.

Lastly may I also wish you another HAPPY NEW YEAR for the 23rd and the beginning of the Chinese Lunar Calendar - a Water Dragon year. A strong and powerful Chi - like the 6 Metal Star in 9 Star Ki - one of impetus, action and drama, unlike the fluffy bunny of last year!

Nine Star Ki Astrology - January 2012

From January 5th to February 3rd the Ki cycle changes to a 6 METAL (Heaven / Yang) month.

The 6 Metal Star bringing with it a heightened sense of clarity, focus and the full force of ‘Heaven’ Chi.

This is the strong and authoritative trigram of Chien from the I Ching representing, like a father does, a capacity for support and wisdom. It is a great time to focus on the job at hand and find strength to succeed.

Your Ki Forecast for January 2012

9 Fire Star – It's a bit like climbing a mountain this month. It can certainly feel like an up-hill-struggle, but persevere as it will be well worth it. The 8 Earth House can make one reclusive and hidden so pay attention to any reluctance to get out and about. Please remember to double check on any important communications to make sure you heard correct and are also understood clearly. A great time for studying!

8 Earth Star – This month you can take a back seat, put your feet up and give yourself some well deserved time off and pat on the back. The 7 Metal House is summed up by the keyword Joy. A relaxing and rather spontaneous house, you may find yourself attracted to impulse buying so watch those purse strings. Although more carefree and relaxed you may find others don't take you as seriously as you want them to this month.

7 Metal Star – The 6 Metal House represents Autumn and Harvest-time, a downward/inward movement of Chi. It's a time of consolidation, where all the resources at your disposal come together and solidify. Watch out for any over opinionated attitudes that may alienate you from others as your confidence and stability may come across as over-bearing. People may come to you for your new sense of clarity, focus and commitment. This is a strong position to be in so be responsible.

6 Metal Star – It's always an exciting time when you hold the middle sector. A time of ups-and-downs (fluctuation) but also a time of great opportunities and an ebb and flow of energy which may bring surprise attention your way. Do take time out for yourself this month and contemplate what also represents the end and beginning of a cycle, reinvention and rebirth. Brilliant time to banish unwanted habits and start fresh, more productive ones. Keep your feet on the ground though!

5 Earth Star – The 4 Wood house is the fastest moving house, and is a continuation of the 3 Wood House you were in last month, but less stable. It's important (as you are currently in a 6 Metal House for the year), to take stock of your position, finalise any left over projects or jobs. Try not to get carried away with juggling too many tasks as this will make you feel stretched and energetically thin on the ground!

4 Wood Star – Great, you've moved into the metaphorical 'Spring' house in the Ki cycle; the 3 Wood House. This is a time of birth and new beginnings. Time to get those plans and prepared ideas and schemes initiated and moving along. You may feel much more lively in your actions, enthused with opportunities coming your way and fully supported by friends and family.

3 Wood Star – From a quiet month last month things still have yet to get going. In fact it's more a time to prepare when you occupy the 2 Earth House. so make sure your stepping stones are firmly set and stable enough to run along in December. Don't get too frustrated if you feel hesitant about your next step, have patience and faith that it will all slot into place. My advice is to stay grounded, stick with the routine and get yourself ready.

2 Soil Star – The 1 Water House metaphorically represents Winter. It's a time of stillness, a time to nurture your OWN energy and to concentrate on getting yourself and your plans ready for the next cycle. A welcome breather in this fairly frantic year. Health wise be quick to gain control of any colds as they may take a while to shift if you don't. Recapture any spiritual practices that you may have given a back seat.

1 Water Star – You're on top of the pile this month as you finally reach the summit! It's all about illumination and being noticed for you. Now's the time to get those promotion glasses on if you've been after advancement up the ladder. If you've been waiting for a launch date, this is it, get yourself noticed. Being in the spotlight can lead to more attention from others, so make time to socialise, but don't burn yourself out. Lastly, being in the spotlight can highlight things you want to hide or keep out of sight.

Flying Stars

This month the troublesome 5 Yellow Star move to the SOUTH EAST, where you can use the metal element to help 'drain' its effect. Avoid spending too long in this area or start renovations to your property, just for this month.

The West this month is a still and reflective place, which is suitable for putting pen to paper, doing research or studying, but also representative of wealth. The T'ai Chi (centre) area would be best kept spotless and clear of clutter as this may hinder your possibilities of financial success.

For boosting a relationship, looking for romance or to increase your creativity take a duster to the East. Lastly the North East this month represents our future aspirations, so take care not to dampen the flame with too much of the water element - i.e. black/deep blue colours or symbols of water.
